When I make a new profile now it brings me back to the top of the new profile form

I've noticed that when I make a new profile, it brings me back to the top of the new profile form, so it looks like the new profile wasn't added/completed or it looks like there was a mistake made on the form but the new profile was actually made - I could see this if I search for the new profile. I don't know if this is a glitch or something that was purposefully done. If it was meant to be this way, I think it's confusing especially to someone new and they may think that they didn't do something right.

Issue Update: It seems now the issue has been fixed (or at least it's not happening anymore), at least in my recent added profiles. Thanks to whoever fixed the problem.

I had the same issue.  I got an "Edit Conflict" when I tried to add it again.
add bugs as a tag so that maybe someone will let us know if that is a problem.
Confused me, and I'm not new.

Even odder, it was a pre-1700 profile, so it sent the Add form back with the Project Coordination banner at the top.
I have also had that issue for me. It started either Thursday or Friday. I thought it was just the family I was working on but obviously it is more widespread than I thought. All of the profiles I have been adding (not from a WikiTree ID) have given me the same issue.

Is this happening every time you add a new profile? It's not happening for me.

It happened to me yesterday (Friday 25th April).  I created a new child, and the 'create new profile' came back.  I tried it again: same thing.  So I came right out of it and went back into the family - and there was the profile I had tried to create, even though it didn't look as though it had happened.
It doesn't happen every single time.  But even once is too many! *grin*

I've added a few profiles in the last couple of days and it didn't happen to me.

Of course, now I have said that, it probably will. cheeky

Seems to occur more often when adding a sibling then adding a child.  But is annoying.
It happens for me every time I add a sibling, but not every time I add a new child to a parent (I think).
Hi, Jamie -- I know I already emailed you about this, but a little more info might help.

I've had this happen a few times over the past week, and it seems to be when there's a delay between starting the new profile and ultimately clicking to save it. For example, when I'm going through multiple potential duplicates or get interrupted by something else.

Now that Kenneth & Kitty mention it, I do think it was happening more often when I was adding a sibling, but I didn't really pay attention to that. I will going forward, though.

It happens to me when I add a parent or child using the Wikitree ID.

It happened to me when I tried to add a child to a profile I manage. I couldn't find any issue so I shut down that window and started over. It worked that time.
I just got this when connecting an existing profile as a parent.  It connected the parent, then tried to do it again and gave an error.

Yes, fairly annoying.  Been a couple of days.  I'm clicking on the 'click to go back' arrow at the left of the screen after saving the new profile and then scrolling up and clicking on the family relationship for ...' link.  Then I'm ready to add another new profile.

This is definitely a problem that happens with me as well. It seems to happen to me more with adding people with Wikitree X, specifically adding wives it happens more. However, it might just be a coincidence! Thanks for looking into it, Wikitree staff!

Just happened twice to me in the past 10 minutes. Got the edit conflict, created the profile again, then discovered I had two profiles and then had to immediately merge them.

I changed a parent by entering the new ID in the Add Parent form.  It tried to do it twice.  The first time worked.  The second time gave me the meaningless "Found ID" message that you get when the parent you try to add is the same one that's already in place.

Looks like either the code is going round in circles, or some kind of transporter accident is duplicating the requests.

"Upload Image" button you now have to hit two times in order to upload the image.  Been that way for at least a month. Doesn't happen with every upload, but about 80% for me.  Makes you think you have made a mistake and takes you completely out of your rythym . . . I think it is designed to get you to 1) enter the data, and 2) to REVIEW  the data.  Great, I just entered the data a half-second ago and now I have to review it.  EXTREMELY ANNOYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
