If there isn’t a one-name study for Katz, I would like to volunteer, I have 138 Katz members dating back to 1840.

Hi Allen - Ref Katz

Looking for a bit of advice - so many Katz surnames on Ancestry ! I'm trying to find out what happened to Samuel (48) and Fannie Katz (38) their son Simon and were cited in the 1940 US census as living in Hopkinson Avenue , Brooklyn. Simon was born in London , UK on May 28 1927. Simon Katz was a naturalised as US Citizen in November 16 , 1945 at the age of 18 .His parents Samuel and Fannie were both born in Russia - adopted new names when they came to America from England as emigrants on May 13 , 1930 when they are listed as Shaia and Feiga Katz on the passenger list.

After 1940 I can't seem to work out what happened to them - any idea where I should look ?

Best regards

Hi Allen and Lee, and welcome to WikiTree! smiley

Per Lee Desty's response in this thread, it looks like the two of you could perhaps join forces and have a little team started to work on KATZ!

A while back I started a ONS for the surnames of each of my 4 grandparents. I have not done much to date, but will say my Dad's recent death has very much elevated my quest to move the KEIL study along. As part of this I have also joined The Guild of One Name Studies. (They have a lot of information for guests, too.) There is also a lot of great information on the topic of ONSs on WT at Getting Started with a One Name Study.

Hope this helps ... I'm happy to chat further if of interest to you.
