Hi Integrators Challenge Participants!

It's time for this month's Integrators Challenge. Prior months' stats will be posted soon. Here's the Challenge Tracker Results Page that has up to the minute stats.

To participate:

  1. Answer here (NOT comment). You can use the Challenge Tracker (preferred) or list your contributions in the comments under your answer here. You only need to post once.
  2. If you opt to use the Tracker you are ready to go.
  3. If you opt to just post in this thread, list the G2G question you worked on and what you did here (answered the question, create a profile, source profile) in a comment on your answer. Number your contributions.
  4. All Challenge activity should involve G2G questions from two months ago or more. If the question is unanswered try to answer it.
  5. Add the URL/Webpage Address of the question used to create the profile(s) under your Answer here when a profile is created to answer a G2G question.

Whatever question you choose, look at the information there and check to see if there is a profile on WikiTree yet. Yes? Move whatever information might be in the question to the profile, and put a link to the profile on the question in G2G so everyone is aware there is now a profile on WikiTree.

No profile? Create one (or a few if several people are mentioned in the question, comments, and answers), and do the same as above.

These are some threads to get you started if you don't want to do some searching on your own. If you use one of these, comment on your post below with which you are working on so you aren't doubling up another's work. Everything should be sourced!

'''New: Option two for Participating in the Integrators Challenge.'''

Click here to Create profiles using the Category: Needs Profiles Created. Selecting your Country and State.

  1. Create the profile, checking to make sure the profile does not already exist.
  2. Using the Tracker, click the Integrators Challenge box, click "New Profile from Needs Profiles Created (Add URL) and click Add Action.
  3. Add information to the bio and add sources to improve the profile and click the Integrators Challenge box and select added sources and the URL.
  4. Ask in the G2G Forum if any member is interested in adopting the profile.
  5. Try to connect the profile to a family/ancestor or tree already at WikiTree.
  6. If not using the Tracker, Add the URL/Webpage Address of the profile(s) used to create the new profile(s) under your Answer here when a profile is created.

The Monthly Challenge runs from midnight the first day of your month and ends at 11:59 the last day of the month, your time.

Ask any questions you have here in the thread.

To all Integrator's Challenge participants , those of you that are creating profiles from the Category:Needs Profile Created and then Orphaning the profile(s) would you please send a list of profiles created as well as the orphaned profile(s) to Janet Wild

The information we are looking for is
Date
Profile Name
Profile Wki ID
G2G link
Your  Wki  DI

Thank you for you help

Psst, Pip, don't forget to sign up yourself please, we need you wink

I guess I’ve been doing this wrong, I’ve re-read the above paragraph a few more times. I was under the assumption that we still had to keep track of all of the profiles that we’ve made even if we are using the tracker. That way they can be sent in so we can abandon them, and hopefully someone who needs to add that person has a starting point.

Can’t we ,once we start the profiles just abandon them ourselves by taking ourselves off as administrators for those pages?

Also, why isn’t there the option to take the profiles off of the “need profiles made list” once you are done with them. I’ve been working in the Wisconsin ones. I was told (somewhere in this thread) that there was a “needed profiles made” in the profiles. I’m not seeing any.

I relies that these may seem like stupid questions but I really just want to make sure that I’m not making a mess that will make someone else a lot more work in the long run.

I guess by doing this it’s my way of giving something back to wikitree. So please tell me if I’m doing it wrong.
Ok, if you retrieve a profile from the Wisconsin:Needs Profiles Created list, you add the profiles you can for family members. If you are through with them, you can orphan them (like I often do to keep my Watchlist down). What Janet is asking for is the particular profile you started with.

So, if you start with John Doe, added 10 children or whatever, and then orphan them, you can post this family on G2G as orphaned and needing more work. Janet wants you to send her the above information (in her post) to her, including the G2G address, so she can keep track of them.

For example, if I started with John Doe and added members of his family, I would post John on G2G saying he’s orphaned and his family needs more stuff like biographies or even expansion of the family to connect with other families. Then I would send a message to Janet giving her all of the requested info.

Make sense? (I have to ask because I’m not sure I ever do.)
I’ve been keeping track of all of them lol so could have just saved the main ones info and sent it to her. I guess I made more work for her and me. Sorry!

How do I take the profiles off the need profiles made page? There’s no option to do that.

Just delete the category at the top of the text box on a profile in edit mode. That should do it.

I’ll have to go back and ck the ones that I’ve made already to see if there are any there. I normally get rid of that after I add the first source.

Thank you for your answers and patience smiley

Hi Pip no you don't send me any info crying

I had a great list from Alice last month and a spreeadsheet from Katie

Super! Thanks for participating again, Alice!
I finished Howard Tullis Howard-22134 added what I could find for sources but there’s not a lot for them

I started making a profile for his father but he was already there. Made one for his mom and was going to connect her to the kids but found an unknown who was the same person. So I merged her with the one I had started.

I tried looking for things on the kids but again, not any more than what was on the ones that were already there.
Did Ormand-16 and added some sources to her husband

Finished Aaby-12 how sad, she was only 5 months. There was a kitchen fire where her mother 22 and sister who was 3 all died in it :(crying

Hi, I’ve finished the Allen family along with their parents

Pryor

Ormond

Aaby

Palmer

Jacobson parents

Johnson family

And the Aaronson family

Thank you, Dorothy Barry!

One of these months, I will remember to automatically sign up for Integrator's Challenge. I keep thinking I'm automatically signed up when I do the monthly Sourcerer's Challenge.

So, I will be doing some Integrating this merry month of May and will let Janet know of any orphaning, although I will mostly be working on Cornwall family!
by Carol Baldwin G2G Astronaut (1.1m points)

Your welcome Carol! Thank youyes

Glad you’re joining the fun, Carol!

Should we send them to you at the end of the month or after we have a few of them done?

Eta I clicked the name where it says to send them to and it just sends me to a google email with now email address.

Is there something I’m missing?

Posting them here is just fine, Alice. Just copy and paste.

I wasn’t sure so I emailed them to the address that I had for last month. I had forgotten to post them and she emailed me.

I’m working on names just from Wisconsin so unless someone else is working on the same state it should be goodsmiley

You need to remind people to remove  Category: Needs Profile Created once they add sources etc.  I am finding many, in at least Massachusetts, that have already been sourced and have bio.
by Chris Hoyt G2G6 Pilot (854k points)
Good point, Chris. I hope others will see this.
How do you remove their name from the list? I’ve done quit a few and haven’t been able to figure it out.

With the sources you just remove the sources needed.
Alice, at the top of the text section of the "anchor" profile (in edit mode) you will see in doble brakets [[   ]] the Needs Profiles Created category. Just delete it.
They have them in the “profiles needed “part of the challenge ? I’m not seeing that at all or I would take them out.

Sorry to be a pain, I just want to get this right so I not making more work in the long run for someone else.

Ex. This profile,

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Fiedler-361

Needs  the father added as well as anyone else who’s in the census that’s not there. I’m not seeing a profile needed with the tiles in it.

I’m getting them from here https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Wisconsin%2C_Needs_Profiles_Created

The Category:Needs Profiles Created is not removed until all the family members have been added to the profile even if the profile(s) have been sourced.
I haven’t taken it out yet, it’s still there. I’m working on their kids.
