Sarah married a C D Embrey, but the Ancestry information is questionable. The same tree has been copied by numerous contributors and no real sources are cited other than the.census.as proof of her existence, but that doesn't have her in her birth family. And of course, Sarah is a common name, and there were a bunch of Moxleys in Tennessee and Missouri, as well as Embreys. There is a marriage record for a David Embrey and Eliza Moxley, but this seems off. Her middle name is listed in some places as Elydia, and Find a Grave has a marker with the name Lydia Moxley. Any info would be appreciated!

I found this Link in family search.  Is this something close to what you are looking for?  Could this be her?

Thank you Anna Lane. Yes, this is most probably Sarah e. moxley's birth family. Obion TN isn't far from SE Missouri. Thank you!
Glad to help.   And not a problem.
Looked at the Census again this morning and a few families up from the Moxleys is a Maden family. Someone has that name, maybe Ester's maiden name. Thanks again Anna for this lead!

You might try searching some of the children by using the census data - look for births/marriages/deaths etc.  to see if those documents might give more information on their mother Sarah?  Didn't find a death record for either CD (?Charles D) or Sarah E.

This promising -thank you very much! Thanks for sharing!
Forgot to note that son Charlie B, b. abt 1879 IL, would have been likely a son of CD's previous wife.
Thanks again for your suggestions. Charlie B. was CD's first wife's son, Mary and she was from N.C. These folks sure did get around, I had no idea. Sarah may be our Pentacostal preacher, according to some information on an ancestry family tree post. But I don't trust much of those posts.
