Faustin Briggs Langham Rutland

I have come across an ancestor with the interesting name of Faustin (Fosten, Fausten) Briggs in Rutland c 1561 (Briggs-7696). Despite the rareness of such a name, I can find no evidence for him besides a possible second marriage and a mention on his children. I feel he must be gentry as it is unlikely that a landless family would give such an elevated forename to their son. Yet, I can find no record of a gentry family of the surname Briggs in Rutland or nearby Lincolnshire. Has anyone come across Faustin in any docs of the period? Or can you shed any light on his origins?

There are a lot of Briggs in Rutland, even one called Beatricia, Cutbeard and Hansten.
I had the second marriage and his death. I am really looking for his baptism and parentage. Cutbeard? My goodness, those parents had a lot to answer for. LOL Thanks for helping. xx

I had the death. Really looking for his baptism, as I would love to know more about his origins. As I said, I feel, with a name like this, they must have some land. It's not the name a field worker gave his son. Thanks for helping.xx
