Hi, I'm new...just joined this week. I've recently been turned on to ancestry research after being contacted by someone on Facebook who had information about my father's (Whittinghill Family of New Albany,IN area) family...who I never knew...never saw a pic...knew nothing. My father and his 3 siblings were neglected children and removed from their home and parceled out to other places. My father was taken in by an uncle on his mother's side (Wainscott) but he was never adopted and so he remained a Whittinghill. It was so exciting receiving the information and discovering long lost cousins on FB and I've begun putting my ancestry together on Ancestry.com for both sides of my family. There are large gaping holes in both sides that boil down to just a couple elusive ancestors, who have me so frustrated.
