James Forbush father of George Forbush (died 1763)

I am a descendant of the "mysterious" George Forbush married Olif Ferree and died 1763 in NC.

Research leads me to believe his father was a James Forbush (Forbes) who died approx 1687.

This assumption based on the below info on James:

I am now hoping to dig further into this. Anyone interested in finding out more about this line of the Forbush/Forbes/Forbus family in the US, please get in touch.

Bacon’s Rebellion was almost 100 years before this James died, so can’t be the same man.
Bacon's rebellion in Surry was in 1676, I have James dying in 1687. Dates seem to match: am I missing something?
Oops, I misread the death date

Jason,

I think we may share a common greatgrandfather or two. I am a descendant of Edward Forbus b.1805 SC. He is found in Coosa Co. Census 1850 in Alabama. I can't find the definite link to either Rowan Co George Forbush (kids to KY with Boones) or to his bro William Forbes Forbis (father of Col. Arthur Forbis and others; William was married twice).

Edward Forbus b.1805 SC

John F. Forbus b.1849 Alabama

William Edward Forbus b.1886 Alabama

Marvin H. Forbus b.1927-2006 Alabama

Captain Ronald G. Forbus b.1958- Alabama

Ron J. Forbus b.1981

I have mailed in a DNA kit so I will have some Y-DNA test results in 6-7 weeks I will keep updating.

Kindest Regards,

Ron J. Forbus Esquire

Ron,

nice to meet you. I think I might have some details on Edward.

I'm actually trying to get information on George Forbush (died 1763 in NC), specifically on his parents to go further back in time with my tree. Let's discuss and share information, if you want: jrforbus@gmai.com

I realize the images of James Forbes/Forbush's will are behind a pay wall. Would you please write either an abstract or a summary of that will, so we have access to the information, but do not infringe on the rights of the Virginia Pioneers site.

Thanks, Kathy
