Can you help me understand what was written on the bible page?

Hello.  I have some bible pages recording family details and there is something that I don't understand.  I do know that the person who did part of the writing tended to misspell things.  That being said, there was a reference that I believe has to do with Pleasant Slone.  Please look at his profile, and then see if this comes close to making any sense at all.....

"Mother's granfather (sic) was a Airgiuican & 32nd Daq Mason"  "He was born in Floyd Co, KY"

-- the G could be a Q and the Q could be a G.  In the first word the U could be an A.

Following this branch of my tree lead me to Pleasant Slone, but I just have no idea what this person was trying to say.  Any help would be appreciated.

I agree with the previous answer but would add that Freemasons are commonly called just Masons.  It is a (non college) Fraternal organization that is very common in communities across the United States.  There are many degrees of membership available in this organization.  Eastern Star would be a woman's organization equal to membership for the men.  I can't say when it was started so you may or may not find this applied to any female ancestor.
Hi Michele,

Are you able to digitise the page for Pleasant & upload it to the profile? it might be easier to help you if the image was available.
All the best

Billy

The first word could be Anglican maybe? The second part means he was a Freemason, a 32nd degree.
