Question about Alexander Campbell (Sinclair) Sinclair Earl of Caithness 13th

My Great Great Great Grandmother Margaret Maskew who lived in Kendal had an illegitimate child in 1809. Her father was a Gentleman and owned the Coach House and the Coffee House in Kendal.

She named her son Alexander Sinclair Maskew and documents record that the father of the baby was Alexander Sinclair an officer in the Army.

My hopes of actually finding the father are slim but as my DNA records show no record of Scottish blood in me and I am a direct descendent of Margaret there are not too many Alexander Sinclair Army Officers who might have been in the Area of Kendal in August 2008.

Wouldn't it be exciting if a young officer named Alexander Campbell Sinclair could have been in that area travelling between London and Scotland.

Could you possibly help?
