Am I able to fix details on my grandfather

I have gone into Alfred Heath to add details and it's connected to another tree and some of the details are wrong I have sent a few messages regarding his father and have no reply and would like to add to his father details. Am asking if I can add what I have thank you   Dianna

In general, yes, you can added sourced information to profiles. If you would add a tag with the Wiki-ID to your question, as well as listing the information you want to add and the sources for it, this would allow people to see the exact circumstances.

IF you want to make substantial changes to the profile - as forex parents or children, it would be best to contact the profile manager.

I understand what you are saying when I added Alfred there was no other profile I did question one one his father Thomas with no reply and I didn't think they were the same as there was little detail and mother different. how long do you wait for any reply. Dianna

Some profile managers are active, some have gone missing.  If you go to the manager's page and click on "contributions" you can see the last date the manager was active.

If active, you can wait maybe a week for a response.

There are a few changes that do require the profile manager's cooperation.  If you need help with this, using the tag LEADER on G2G will get the proper attention.

When I found your grandfather Alfred Heath-6875, it looks like you are putting 'public' in the prefix of some profiles, which should not be there.  You will get a Suggestion for that field because that is not a 'normal' prefix for a profile.

It looks like there are 2 profiles for his father Thomas, which is why some of his siblings are showing as 'half'.  Heath-4699 and Heath-6889.  There is a Suggestion 409 for that problem because they are both married to your grandmother Bridget Ryan.  There are no sources listed on either profile, so it would help to get sources added to your profile and the next set of grandparents, which might help to resolve the correct maiden name of the grandmother.  

You will need to merge those duplicated profiles because we only want to have one profile for each person on wikitree.  Remember, we all 'share' the same tree. The PM of the other profiles is active on wikitree, so you should send her a message, explaining your relationship to that family.

Found a Marriage source in 1842 with Catherine Aire, which is different spelling from both profiles.  On your marriage record, you have the start and end dates as 1842, which is probably not correct.

The spelling of Ayre and Alre is common in the early years the same when they spell Heath and Heathe my surname is Neilsen but a lot of the earlier years it was Neilson in some ofthe records

Hi Linda, Please explain about public I had put most of mine as public the one's living I believe are private I don't mind having a public tree as then other family members can see it. With Thomas Heath I have noticed the same problem and I don't know that has happened as for contacting  the other pesrson I did at the beginning and still haven't any reply also sent more since another one today, I won't   merg them together till it can be fixed

One makes a profile private through the privacy tab settings not through use of the prefix field.  See:

You can fix the details in the merge process which allows you to choose which data to keep in the final profile.
