Looking for German birthplace(s) of siblings Zelma Etta Goetz (b. June 7 1861) and Mocks Henri Goetz (b. Nov 23 1863). Their parents Christian Henri Goetz and Elisabeth Oswald were married in the Emmendingen District of Freiburg in Baden-Wurttemberg on Oct 12 1854. Zelma's 1934 obituary said that she was born in Reinholdshain, and that the family lived in Leipzig, but who wrote the obituary is unknown (her husband was dead when it was written).

Hi Doug

I found the record in the church book of Emmendingen. However her first name is given as Friederica Elise there. It´s on the www.archion.de website (unfortunately a paysite). Interestingly the record is in French (other records in the same book are in German) and it says she was born in La-Chaux-de-Fonds in Switzerland.

However, if I see the comment above about Zelma´s parents mentioned in the marriage record, it seems the person mentioned in the church book of Emmendingen is not the one you are searching for.
