Hi Joseph! I really appreciate your enthusiasm and you may be on to a valuable project for WikiTree, but please take a deep breath. Okay. Now, I need some dates, links, or at least profile numbers. I read your project free space and more details are always better if you are serious about wanting some help.

I can help you with the project (I am a Putnam descendant from those executed during the whole Witch Hysteria thing).

This is the Putnam line I have been working on see here Lewis Hiram Putnam (1858 - 1921)

Ill try to get more information up some time to day. However I am unsure how correct it will be as The book Referenced History of the Putnam family in England and America has other mistakes or things that are not really explained.

I am waiting for the book. Church and Manor of Puttenham. I hope it has dates and I am also waiting on information from research notes but they are locked in the church so we may have to wait because of lockdown
I think most older lineages may be disproved.
How do you delete a comment on the forum?
Joseph, you asked about deleting a comment.  You should see a "hide" button on your own comments, and you can hide them but not delete them.  (I will tell you that once in a long while, a G2G moderator may come along and "unhide" a comment.  However, you can hide it again, and if you wish to, contact the moderator to explain.)

You can not delete other people's comments.  If a comment is inappropriate or highly offensive, you can flag it.  If a second person flags it, then it will be hidden.  (If you flag something by accident, or then change your mind, it is just as easy to unflag it, using the same button.)

I hope this is helpful.

When you research Salem, Be sure to search not only Salem MA but also especially Danvers Mass Archives.  Originally Danvers Mass was the original Salem Village, where the Farmers lived outside of the "town/later city of what is now known as Salem Massachusetts that touts the witches and trials and museums about it all.  The Putnams owned large homes in Danvers Massachusetts and are actually buying back one that was Israel Putnams birth place.  The home was donated 30+ years ago to the Historical Society of Danvers.  They decided couldn't continue upkeep and were going to sell it to raise funds to do upkeep on other historical homes they own. The current descendants will not allow this and are or have bought it back to restore it again. > https://www.salemnews.com/news/local_news/family-to-buy-back-danvers-historic-putnam-house/article_fcc7c84d-d21f-5e36-960a-c608ec24158e.html

Thank you for tha information. Iwill look into all of it. According to the College of Arms in England. Eben Putnam's work as been disproved.
Joseph, I have relied on Eben Putnam for some of my own genealogy, mostly on Ancestry.  I am always interested in new information, but want more evidence than a simple statement.  Do you have a link or other reference?  Does the College of Arms mean to say that all his work is wrong, or just some parts of it?
No it is not all of his work but the linage through Nicholas of Penn that was proved wrong. They shared with me Andrew Moriarty had disproved this. However since then I have found other works that disproved Moriarty and older trees.  Such as Margaret Vincent's work. That I believe is much more credible owing to the fact she lived in Puttenham and was secretary of St Mary's church in Puttenham. If anyone would have access to the records it would have been her. I don't really believe the works of others after her because they clearly did not go there an do the research at least the church Warden makes no mention of this people. So they most likely copied others work or guessed. I think Margaret Vincent's book is from 1987
Thank you.  I guess the best thing to do is wait until you get the information you have requested so we can all see the evidence.
