Polyfoto of my grandfather, Capt. Duane M. Hart, 820th Base Ordnance Depot Co.

This Polyfoto was most likely taken in Romsey, England shortly after receiving his promotion to Captain on June 1, 1944; he soon left England with the 820th Base Ordnance Depot Co. and arrived in Cherbourg a week later once the Allies had captured the port.  He served as the commanding officer of the 820th for over a year before arriving back in the States on September 11, 1945.
