Help on parents of French Indian war veteran William Johnson

I recently adopted an orphaned profile of an ancestor, William Johnson-59775 (born ~1700). I’ve hit a wall trying to determine his parents and birthplace. I’ve found sources for marriage, children, and death. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks King-21644. I’m new to this site, tool set, and digging for sources. I see trees all over other sites that have the John in question as the father of this William but still no sources to support it. Maybe it was an early mistake and kind of went viral or maybe there’s some evasive evidence out there somewhere. I’ll add Johns place of death to the notes. It may help down the line. Tried to thank your comment from the G2G feed, but didn’t see how. So thanks again!

your next step would be to examine the wills of the Johnsons dying between 1700 and maybe 1750 in or near Tolland County to see who names a son William
when I was challenged to prove the parents of U.S. Naval hero Reuben James, I read through 119 wills and land records. Found them.

I’m going to need stronger reading glasses before this is throughcool Does WikiTree have some source hounding tips for sites vs physical libraries or maybe it’s part of everyone’s learning experience to see what works for the profiles they’re working on? I’ve been pretty much sticking to the RootSearch with Ancestry and FamilySearch. Looking at the Capt E Johnson and several descendents source p8 and see a birth and marriage but no further mention of death date/place for John. Hope all is good at your end.

a lot of deeds and land records are on Ancestry.com
