Has anyone made a connection between Francis Hall of CT and Thomas Haal of New Amsterdam?

My 8th GG, Mary Underhill Stites {Underhill-510} was an heir of Thomas Hall {Haal-6} of New Amsterdam (he was probably her mother's brother) and two of her children married children of Isaac Hall {Hall-733}. Has anyone seen any evidence of a family connection between Isaac Hall's father Francis Hall and Thomas Hall of New Amsterdam? it seems too much of a coincidence that Thomas Hall's considerable wealth should have found it's way to the children of Isaac Hall in the absence of any previous family connection. Hall may be a common name, but I think it very likely that Mary Underhill Stites living on Long Island was in close contact with the Hall's in CT because they were kin.
