Does this sound like something One Name Studies Project members would like?

An idea to help folks with their One Name Study Project is to have all project members work on a designated project member's project for one hour per week each week.

It would be a great way to help others & to receive help on your own project.

A possible schedule is:

Does this sound like something we should try? Is once per week or length of time per study the correct allocation of our resources?

Hi, is your idea that we would research source materials for someone else's project or would we actively add profiles that would link to the one name study?

My thought is that we would research the weekly designated One Name Project in an effort to further that study. This may mean different things depending on the goals of the study. In many instances this may mean trying to link other family lines with the same surname which were previously thought unrelated.

The broader idea here is that group collaboration will help everyone in the group progress with their own study

This sounds like a good idea. Thanks! I think an hour per week is perfect.

The Research Schedule only lists times as "week one," "week two," and so on. I think it would help if specific dates were assigned, and posts were made in G2G to remind us of which name is the name of the week. Also, the coordinators of the various names to be studies should each be contacted a week or so before their project comes up, just to confirm the timing works for them.

Thanks!

Thank you Pamela for reminding me about this post. We have not implemented a schedule yet. The possible schedule has no dates for that reason. I was hoping for more responses before moving forward. I will revisit this and see what we can do.

Thanks again.
Thanks, Doug!
