The Scotland Project is hard at work improving profiles for our Scottish Ancestors and we would love you to join us!  The Project covers all things Scottish, so no matter what you interests are, there's a team waiting for you!

You'll begin with a journey down our new Tartan Trail (you can learn more about it here) where you'll not only improve and/or learn new skills, but will also meet new people and learn to work within an active, collaborative WikiTree community.  Once you've completed the Tartan Trail, you'll be invited to join other teams within the project that interest you.

Membership Information

If you are new to WikieTree and have not become a full member you will need to upgrade to Wiki Genealogist Level and sign our Honor Code to receive your wiki genealogist badge, which is a necessity for editing profiles.  Full details can also be found on the Scotland Project  home page.  This will also give you a time line of what to expect from the Tartan Trail

To start your journey, post an ANSWER below!

DNA shows that I am related to the Moray Stewarts. I am stuck at Sarah Stewart born about 1760 who married Michael Capper in Frederick County, Virginia, USA. Sarah is mentioned in the November 1797 minute books for Virginia as being the heiress of Thomas Stewart. Thomas would have been born before 1742 and died before November 1797. These are the only Stewarts I have as ancestors. I cannot prove which Thomas is her father.
what do we do in the Scottish project as I am Scottish

Hello! My DNA suggests 26% Scottish, and I have ancestors who I would like to learn more about: e.g. Fletcher, Gunn, Roxburgh.

Thank you!

I don't seem to be a member of the project. So I'd like to join.

I'm obviously a Clan Donald person (by DNA a direct all-male line descendant of Somerled, still looking for paper) and in fact the admin of the Clan Donald DNA Project. Advertisement: if you're a Clan Donald name we note that we welcome you even if you are not a paid Clan mamber ...  we're free.

I have paper trails across the sea directly to Clan Rose and Clan Grant, and through them to Clan Donald. My line in Scotland back from them is already in quite excellent shape  on Wikitree.

Hello, I am interested in joining the Scotland Project. I appear to connect to the Stewarts through my paternal Kennedy line,  and through my maternal Cunningham (Sterrett, Paxton, Walker, McClung, Stewart and also Paxton, Blair, Campbell, Drummond) lines.

Thank you,

I am a descendant of Daniel McClard, who came to the US many years ago from Scotland, via Ulster. I would like to research further where he may have come from.
