Does anyone know who the parents of Alice Snuffer were?

Good afternoon! I'm cleaning up my Snuffer ancestors and have hit a bit of a snag: my great-great-aunt Alice Snuffer (Snuffer-70 )   my great-great-aunt Alice Snuffer. It turns out she is not the daughter of Snuffer-32 and Swartz-348. As recorded in the 1900 census, she was their niece. I have not been able to locate a birth certificate, marriage record, or death certificate for her. The census shows her father was born in Tennessee and her mother was born in Missouri (as her uncle and aunt were). Can anyone shed some light on this?

Thank you!

Laura E.

Thomas Snuffer born TN Sep 1853. He resided in Polk Twp., (east half) Decalb, MO at the time of the 1900 U S Census.

He was the father of Stella Snuffer 8 and Emert Snuffer, 5. Two nieces were in the same household, Dollie age 23 and Alice age 18. All in the household were born in MO except Thomas Snuffer.

Another niece, Dolly Snuffer, married Curtis Carry or Carey in 1910.  That might be Alice's sister.  Alice lived with them in the 1910 Census.  Another 1910 Census has Alice, Della Snuffer, and Pearl Chaney living together in St Joseph with their mother Lydia.  Since Alice lived with her cousin Pearl Chaney in St Joseph in 1930, I think she was counted twice in 1910.  One of these Alices married a Daniel Saar in St Joseph in 1910 as well.  Very confusing!

SSDI says she died as Alice Snuffer in 1971.
