I am looking for birth records for any of probably several children of Sarah Simpson( Simpson-13581) and John Thompson (Thompson-57399) and alternate spellings) and a death record for John Thompson, his death was before 1735.
He died and his wife Sarah Simpson Thompson remarried James Campbell (Campbell-15920 )in 1732-1734 in the Londonderry area. After their 1735 marriage; they moved in 1741 to Cherry Valley, now Otsego county, then Albany county New York colony.
The family was living in Cherry Valley at the time of the Cherry Valley Massacre 11 November 1778.
Reliable records exist for the children of Sarah and James, but none have been found so far for the children from her first marriage.
I am attempting to connect a descendant of John Thompson to Jane Thompson (Thompson-6636) my husband's 4 X grt Grandmother.
Her husband was John McClellan son of William McClellan (McClellan-277) who lived in Cherry Valley from approx 1768 to November 1778, when he left and joined the British forces in Canada.
He had bought land in 1773 from Robert Campbell son of James Campbell and Sarah Simpson Thompson Campbell.
