Should Fernando Munõz's profile be removed?

I was advised to take this to G2G. I think Fernando Munõz's profile should be removed. Truth is, it's known that Gonzalo Fernandez was grandson of Munio Nunez and Argilo but it's uncertain whether it was paternal or maternal. Considering that no Fernando Munõz is found in any document, the latter seems more likely. In addition, there was an earlier tradition that Gonzalo Fernandez's father was Fernando Gonzalez, who, actually, is found in documents.

Thanks for bringing it up Paulo. It is one thing to be able to find sources, but if sources can be found for two theories we need to come up with a balanced presentation.

Two common solutions on Wikitree when we know there is a grandparent relationship but not sure who the person in the middle is:

1. We create a fake person with the name "unknown". (What to do if we are not sure of the sex of the person in the middle, or if profiles exist for some of the likely candidates?)

2. We disconnect the relationship fields but explain using wikilinks in the profiles.

I think we should remove Gonzalo Fernandez's parents and note that he was Munio and Argilo's grandson but that it's uncertain whether it was paternal or maternal, but more likely the latter.
So, what should we do? It's been more than a week.
I have not seen Bonnie or John comment since it came to G2G.

Personally I do not see it as a case of "one historian against another" because the discussion on the article page shows everyone agrees on the facts.

So it is a policy/style question: when we have a respectable guess with no proof, but only indications, do we disconnect or do we keep the connection and show it as "uncertain".

I think that in cases where there is one clear and strong "leading guess" then Wikitree often prefers leaving the connection, but marking it uncertain of course.

So are there competing hypotheses?

(I would AT LEAST show it as uncertain from what I have read so far. Everyone seems to agree with that.)
Thing is, as Todd noted in the soc.genealogy.medieval thread, to an extent, this is all guesswork. Still, the fact that no Fernando Munõz is found in any document is a good argument against this theory.
At first I was thinking we could make the name on the profile "Unknown".  Now I see your comment above that the connection is likely to be through a woman.

We do not remove profiles. If connections are not true, you can detach members of the family from each other. Profile managers should be consulted before doing this in order to avoid later disputes

this is project protected and there are sources on the profile
As I already said, it's known that Gonzalo Fernandez was grandson of Munio Nunez and Argilo but it's uncertain whether it was paternal or maternal, but more likely the latter, as no Fernando Munõz is found in any document.
Thing is, Bonnie's scholarly source is exaggerating. There's no reason to believe Gonzalo Fernandez was paternal grandson of Munio and Argilo, instead of maternal.

Paulo, thanks for bringing this discussion over to G2G.  For anyone that looks at this post, I would request that you please look at the data provided on the profile along with the comments/discussion that has been ongoing on the profile.

One of the things that Paulo noted is that Todd Farmerie noted in a post to SGM at  https://groups.google.com/d/msg/soc.genealogy.medieval/VBwXomc8HuQ/kO_XRgCZOyUJ that no such man is found in any document and that, apparently, the connection to the Nunez was through his wife Gutina.

I hope interested people will review and help decide how to handle this connection.  Thanks.
