Who were the parents of Robert de Vernon?

This question was brought up a few years ago on Robert's profile, but nothing came of it.  I thought I'd put it out there on G2G to see if we could get it figured out.  As it stands now, the dates don't mesh for him to be the son of the below mentioned Sir William and wife Margaret Stockport.  Are the dates incorrect?  Are the parents incorrect?

According to the Haddon Hall pedigree[1], his parents were Sir William de Vernon (son of Sir Richard de Vernon and Avice Avernelland Margaret Stockport.

Edited to add:  While we're at it, have a look at the children attached to him.  Did they all exist?  Can we get rid of some of them (through the proper measures)?

Fortunately, we don't have to be fluent in French -- just wise enough to click on the 'English' tab . . .  wink

I don't see as that discusses/answers the question(s) . . .  Am I missing something?
Only that the other members are discussed but Robert is only mentioned.

I am not good with history that far back, just thought it might help.

Btw I can see no English/Angleterre tab on the page I am reading.
On Google Chrome, as soon as I clicked your link, the English tab was there at the top...

I appreciate your efforts.  It's going to take some of our medieval members to sort it out.  The Vernons can be difficult ...
I use Safari, and they obviously think I don’t need translation!

Shows how much they know, n'est-ce pas?  cheeky

Yeah, think their ESP has me confused with my late mother!

The History and Antiquities of Haddon Hall (1836) (see page 19 onwards) discusses the Vernon family of Haddon, Derbyshire. It includes a pedigree (see after page 35), but this does not refer to Robert de Vernon and the text of the book acknowledges there is some uncertainty about how the various family members are related to each other.

There is a more complete discussion in Haddon, the manor, the hall, its lords and traditions (1906). It says that Robert was the son of Richard de Vernon and his wife Avice de Avenel (see page 4 onwards). It distinguishes him from a second Robert de Vernon, who was the son of Sir William de Vernon and who was outlawed.

About his children, Haddon, the manor, the hall, its lords and traditions (1906) says he only had one daughter, Havis or Avice, who married Gilbert le Franceis.

This is consistent with A History of the County of Buckinghamshire on British History Online which says that Robert de Vernon's estates passed to her and then to her descendants (who adopted the name Vernon).

A genealogical chart in an article 'The Vernons of Haddon Hall' by John Pym Yeatman, in Journal of Derbyshire Archaeoligical and Natural History Society, vol. 15, agrees with the above, and it looks like what is on WikiTree confuses Robert de Vernon, son of Richard de Vernon, and Avice de Avenel, with his nephew, Robert de Vernon, son of William de Vernon and his 1st wife Margaret Stockport.

The two wives on the profile of Robert de Vernon, look like they are basically duplicates of the wives of his brother William, and I would delink them from Robert and merge them with profiles for William's existing wives if those profiles exist.  The same for De_Vernon-87, I would merge it with.  I haven't checked thoroughly but it looks like the name of Robert's wife is unknown, but he did only have one child, or surviving child, Hawise.

A pedigree, from The Pedigrees of the Plea Rolls, p. 534, though states that Robert's mother was named Matilda
