Anyone else interested in straightening out Unity/Ursula Croshaw?

The profile for "Ursula Unity Croshaw" needs help.  It seems to combine two daughters of Joseph Croshaw into one woman and includes erroneous information.  In "Adventurers of Purse and Person" Vol. 1, John Dornan says the will of Maj. Joseph Crowshaw, 10 April 1667 mentioned wife Mary, infant son Joseph, and sons-in-law John West and Ralph Graves. The name of his first wife is unknown; she is listed as the mother of six: a daughter whose name is unknown, Mary, Unity, Rachel, Benjamin (died without issue), and Joseph (died without issue). The first daughter married Robert Blackwell who died before 19 Nov 1664 when Joseph Croshaw made a deed of gift of 700 acres to his grandsons Robert Blackwell and James Blackwell, sons of Robert, deceased. Robert and James received a patent for the land 10 Dec 1668.

There are no records which name "Ursula" Croshaw.  Unity Croshaw married John West by 1664.  They had at least four children together.  In 1685 they were living separately.  Unity was alive in 1693, her death date is unknown.

She did not divorce John West and any affair he might have had with Cockacoeske took place long before he married Unity.

Yes, and there’s probably some other web sites that say she had two heads or was an alien.  I think what we have are two sisters, one named Unity and the other not named who have been lumped into one profile with some Internet junk to spice it up a little.  

For reasons I can’t begin to fathom, some people think any early Colonial woman whose name isn’t known must have been an Indian.

As a direct (as far as I can tell) matrilineal descendant of Mary Croshaw, "Ursula's" sister, "Ursula's" mtDNA would be European. If they are from the same mother, which they seem to be.

Yes, all these people were of English descent.  I do think that the unknown daughter and Unity were two different women and need to have their own bios.

I think this needs to be changed back to Unity as wife of John West II.  Ursula should be removed.  Records support Unity

The Croshaw/Wests are finally cleaned up.

Ursula has only Blackwell children.

John and Unity have their four West children.

Matilda and Scarborough West have been moved to their correct family (they are descendants of Anthony West)

Ursula Unity Susannah West Martin has been detached, her real family needs to be located.

I have created a profile for Unity Croshaw, Croshaw-94 but cannot get any farther with cleaning this family up because most of them are project protected.  

Croshaw-3 (Ursula) needs to be detached from West-423 who should then be attached as husband to Croshaw-94.  The West children John, Thomas, Nathaniel and Anne  (West-707, West-417, West-437, and West-5070 )need to be detached from Ursula and attached to Unity.

There are also extraneous children, not part of this family who should be detached, West-1342 Ursula Unity Susannah West Martin, West-12711 Mathilda, and West-12710 Scarborough.
