you are right Eddie

Deletion

Deleting profiles on our shared tree is complicated. See Deletion FAQ.

Deleting your GEDCOM is easy. Look for the delete link at the bottom of your GEDCOMpare report page.

You don't need to delete your GEDCOM. Files will be automatically deleted 60 days after you last used it to compare, create, or edit profiles.

If you didn't work the March upload, it's already gone

Denise, the GEDCOM you uploaded in March is still available for your use. If you choose to upload a new GEDCOM and create profiles from it, you can do so, but be advised you will have to start over again with the process of reviewing suggesting matches and marking them as matches or rejects.

You do not need to delete the old GEDCOM in order to upload the new one. It is possible to have more than two GEDCOMpare files at the same time, but be sure to give them distinctive names so you will not get confused.

I thought it disappeared 60 days after the last day it was worked on and it wasn't worked on. Have I been telling people the wrong thing ?

Eddie, you are correct about the way the system is supposed to work, so GEDCOMs are supposed to be deleted 60 days after they were last used. However there is currently a bug that this doesn't always happen - see https://trello.com/c/R6Qdn4mz/111-gedcoms-may-not-be-deleted-when-they-should-be. I currently have 35 GEDCOMs showing, 4 of which were last worked on over 2 years ago!

I don't know about the bug.

However, i do know that the expiration date for a Gedcom gets extended by 60 days whenever it is used within Gedcompare. If the member opens the Gedcom to look at the data, that will extend the expiry date. These actions do not show up.in the Wikitree edit log.
