How did Louis M. Tremblay become a "Patriot" for the American Revolution?

Hi - Louis M. Tremblay is listed as a "Patriot" under the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR). I am looking for information on how Louis assisted the American rebels in the cause. I do know that he was a prominent landowner/farmer in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you! : )

Louis Michel Tremblay, born 01 November 1738 in Petite Riviere, Canada, died 1825, is no longer considered a patriot by the Daughters of the American Revolution as documentation has been discovered indicating he fought against the patriots (the colonists) during the American Revolution.  Click here:
