Mike: Your connection path (in Connection Finder) is just 16 steps, same length as the one David describes. The Connection path includes the Spencers.
Yes, it's 16 steps, but not closer than 16 steps, so doesn't qualify.
Chris, your Connection Finder connection to Wallis runs through Wallis's second husband Ernest Simpson. to his daughter by another marriage, to one of her husbands, to that man's father, to a wife of that father, to that wife's earlier husband, and finally to some more mundane-looking New England genealogy (Orvises, Whitins, Prentices, and Hoyts). Connection Finder connections are all genealogical, but many of them are not by blood.
9th cousins twice removed.
17th cousin, 4x removed.
Watched all of "The Crown" last month.
Hmm.... had never even considered...

Nope, 21 degrees; 20th cousins once removed through Joane (Holand) Radcliffe

No relation to her first two husbands, but her third (and last) husband is a 19th cousin twice removed through Edmund FitzAlan.
In terms of "have met X who met Y who met Z" I'm five steps away; me > my grandfather > his great-uncle Levin C. Handy > his uncle by marriage Mathew B. Brady > Edward VII > Edward VIII
Just 12 steps in Connection Finder, via an interesting connection path that involves a couple of different people's multiple marriages.
No biological relationship within 15 generations, though.
Wallis and I are thirteenth cousins. We both have the same 12th great grandfather and 12th great grandmother. We are both descendants of Constance (Leventhorpe) Cotton and Clement Cotton.
