Where can I find records in Scotland between 1600-1750?

Have hit a brick wall and much of the information online is incorrect.  Records in Scotland are far and few between and some sites require payment to even locate any information.  I am frustrated and don't know where to turn.  If anyone has some ideas, I would greatly appreciate the help.

The best, though not entirely free, is https://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/.

All searching is free, and you can see extracts of certain things, but images of original documents cost. The reasons I say it's best are that it's the most comprehensive Scottish records database and original documents are always better than extracts. You buy credits in bundles of 30, 40, 80 or more, beginning at 7.50, 10, 20 lbs. or more = $9.50, $12.67, $25.34, etc.

Another option though it may not have what you want is https://www.scottishindexes.com/default.aspx and some records have a cost.

Buying the cheapest Scotland's People package will be much cheaper than a membership to Find My Past which will only give you transcriptions. 

Or if you haven't already done so, just Google the names, associated dates and locations, you may find other sources.

FamilySearch has indexes to much of the ScotlandsPeople data but in some case it may only be available for some amount of money. Also ScotlandsPeople only charges for the image. You can at least see if they have the information.
