Can We Show Next-Prev and Pages at the Top?

I appreciate that in G2G it's at the bottom of the list, but can we also show it at the top, just below the question, but before the first answer? It would sure help me in some of these gargantuan threads where I've read through them before to be able to skip to the page I left off at.

I have often thought it would be nice if all comments and answers were listed with most recent first.  Then I could just read back until I find the comment or answer I had already read.

It would also help those of us who have to wade through several pages of a signup thread.  For instance, if you want Page 7, you have to go to Page 1, scroll down and click the 7, then scroll down on that page to get to the bottom of it...

But maybe this is a limitation of the question2answer software that WT uses.

Out of curiosity, are either of you, Ros, or Scott, old enough to remember using the computer and internet in the mid-1980's?
I am.

laughI was asking because sometimes these younger folk don't know how EASY they have it.   Picture that typewriter in class in JHS or HS, -- typing a skill that will be much utilized (they said) -- and the budget constraints on the school district are such that the typewriter is a clunker, pre-c1950 -- and when you typed a report which had to have 2 carbon copies ...and you really had to slam down on the keys ...

Yes, I'm old enough to remember.  We had manual typewriters in our class, and if you were really good you got to use the electric one...

And carbon copies, and if you made a typo in the middle...argh! And do you remember the sort of copiers where you had to crank them by hand?

Yep, scrolling seems pretty tame when you compare it - I suppose I didn't compare it because I'm trying to block out the olden days LOL
oh, my yes, hand-cranked copiers, one copy at a time and only if something didn't come loose in there ... maybe we had a really bum one ... I recall the whole drum came apart one time, into its component parts ... I didn't see electric typewriters until 5 yrs after HS ... you know there must be seven different ways to turn on an electric typewriter, depending on the make and model? And all of them hidden from common sense.  A label that said "Power" or "Turn on here" would have been helpful.

I like to dip into the Good Old Days now and then just to get high on joy because now it ain't like that ...
I think you are referring to Mimeograph machines.

Ah, Karen, only the instructors called them mimeographs, the kids including myself called them copiers because we were making copies --

logic -- if you are making copies then the machine is a copier ... and the end result if things went well was a copy (hopefully without any smears or blurs) ...

I also would appreciate a second, more convenient, link to the additional pages in a G2G thread, for the reasons given by Ros. (If this is possible...)

There isn't a setting to do that, but I think it's a good idea and next time I'm working on G2G I'll see if it's something I can do.

There was a proposal initially posted by Ros on this suggested improvement, last year on the 7th of March
