Hi Eowyn,

here my first comment :

My wife had bought a Cocker Spaniel bitch from a breeder in the Lower Rhine region and brought it into our marriage. Isabella was called her and had received the mark "excellent" at a show. Her dog passport was issued to "Isabella von Northington". After 14 years we unfortunately had to put Isabella to sleep because he had a malignant ulcer on his stomach. That was a very difficult walk to the vet. Isabella was very obedient and gave us a lot of pleasure all these years.

- How can I upload the foto?-

My mother, Judy Todman with her younger half-sister and her pet dog streak, on Leura Hill, overlooking their farm in the background in Camperdown, Victoria, Australia

My grandmother, Myrtle Sharp playing with my mother's pets including a duck in the foreground.

Myrtle always claimed she never liked pets but as she got older she softened and I think she appreciated their company. Myrtle was 97 when this photo was taken in Judy's backyard.

This is a 1923 photo of my father Chick Lovelace and his dog. Last year, for Week 12 Transportation, I put on a photo of his dog pulling him in this wagon. This one shows him giving his pet a ride.

Thank you Robin for your sweet comment.
SJ, my grandmother must have really loved these photos of my father and his dog. She turned the best one into a glass paperweight—no way to scan that one.

I have a couple photos to share this week. The first one is my grandfather with his poodle. This was taken some time in the 1970s. Fun fact about this dog. The poodle only liked my grandfather and nobody else. That's according to my dad. Here's the pic: https://www.wikitree.com/photo/png/Ferraiolo-5

The dog's name was Cammy and she hated my dad! (And everything else....)

Bonus round:

This is a pic of me in the early '90s with my dog, Tux. My aunt is a dog breeder and she gave us Tux when he was a puppy. We had him and his son, Tie for many years. Good dogs. Though, Tie was a little crazy.....

My mom, probably about 10 years old with one of her best friends and Wally the turtle.

What a great photo, SJ! The girls look like they must be giggling.  Those were the days when girls mostly wore dresses and saddle shoes.  Brings back memories! Thanks for sharing it.
SJ, when I was ten, I would have been scared to death of a big turtle like Walley. Your mom is fabulous!!
I'm no judge of age of kids, just guessed.  Looking again, maybe 7 or 8?  Anyone care to guess?
He's a desert tortouise, quite common in the southwest.  Well, they used to be.
Almost read that as "Her best friend Wally, the Turtle". XD Great pic!!
I love turtles cousin wonderful photo thank you for sharing

I've been looking through old pictures and trying to get them filed away-I just found this one the other day and a perfect prompt comes right along!  This is my grandpa, H.F. Barr, with his beloved Great Dane, Blue.  He always said that Blue was the best dog he ever had.  I wish I'd been able to meet her.

I already used a photo of my mom’s pet and I could not find any other pets of any of my ancestors. So I decided to use a photo of my rabbit, Daisy. I had her for about 6 years. She was a beautiful albino bunny. I would take her for walks on a lead (as you can see in the pic). heart

This is a timely, if sad, subject for me. Here is Oscar, our brave and adventurous chihuahua, who passed away in his sleep Sunday night.

My Aunt, Catherine Ann "Katie" Rammel (1928-2017) had all variety of pets ... they tended to change as she aged.

She loved dogs a a young girl ... then she added birds at middle-age ... and finally only had cats in her elder years ... below are three photos of the progression of pets.

My grandparents were "dog" people who showed and judged dog shows. My grandmother owned Champion Easterwood Winkle ("Winkie" for short), a sweet Beagle. This photo shows my grandfather proudly showing Winkie after she won her group in Chicago, Illinois, USA in 1949.

The following is a photo of my parents' dog Stacy from the 1950s. She was an Irish Setter. They had to give her away when my brother was born in 1957, because he was allergic to just about everything. My mother used to refer to her as "Stacy Bone," after the song C'est Si Bon.

I have several

The first one is my grandad Alf Pilcher in 1936 with two of his Airedales.  Most pictures of him after the late 1920s include at least one Airedale.

The second is me and my cousin Anita (she is still alive so her profile is private) with our Samoyed Wolf. I am the one wearing trouses.  My other grandmother bred Samoyeds. and she gave Wolf to my parents as a wedding present. I learned to walk by hanging onto his coat.  Unfortunately we had to give him back to her when we left England in late 1956, not long after this picture was taken.

The third  is my mother and her sister Lu (Anita's mother) with my mother's Samoyed, Tanya.  My mother is the one leaning on the car. After we moved to the US in 1959,we always had at least one dog, but we did not get another Samoyed until 1970.  Tanya outlived my mother. (She had lung and bone cancer and died in 1975, and that is why Lu was visiting us.) But my father had at least one Samoyed from then until he died in 2008.  The last one, Terry, outlived him, and died earlier this year.
