Challenge of the Week: Add missing dates to profiles [closed]

Question

Hi WikiTreers,

Will you join our Data Doctors Challenge for this week?            

Aleš's "WikiTree+" data analysis has uncovered thousands of profiles that are missing dates.

This is a true genealogists' challenge. Every one requires research.

1. If you can find a source with a date, enter it with the source citation.
2. If your research doesn't yield a date, see if you can estimate one based on the family members. If you do estimate a date, be sure to include the {{Estimated Date}} Research Note Box along with an explanation of how your estimate was made.

Here is the table of profiles with no dates.

If you find or estimate a date, set the status for the profile [more info]. That will earn you a point. The member with the most points at 11:59pm EDT on Sunday night will get the badge and the bragging rights.

If you're participating, please post here to let us know. It helps us avoid stepping on each others' toes, and it's nice to cheer each other on. Also post here if you have any questions about how to participate.

It appears you have to have pre-1500 certification to correct any of these dates. Is there some way to grant that when running these data challenges?

Those profiles are all without dates. Some may be pre1500, but you can still enter them.

When I click on the links in the chart, I am getting an error message - 

Not Found

The requested URL was not found on this server.

EDIT:  Nevermind.  When I click on the second link, the same chart comes up but the links are working there.

When they are pre-1500, it says I cannot enter any data as I need pre-1500 certification. So far, all the ones I've tried to add a date to are in the 1200's.

I see what your problem is. You are looking at the fist page out of 340 pages. Start with 10th or 100th page. https://www.softdata.si/wt/Err_20200607/133_0000-0000_100.htm

and use prev/next on the page to find the right era.

Is the tracker down? I worked on this all AM and started up again a little while ago. Still shows 285 - hasn't changed in all this time. Should be at or around 400.

When do they start and end? I usually get the notification on Tuesday and just assumed it was a Tuesday thru Monday thing. My bad for assuming. I don't particularly mind spending all day on one that has ended - the more the merrier - but I was actually hoping to win this time. LOL So, if I know for sure, I can quit assuming incorrectly. Thank you!

They start when I complete the suggestion reports. Usually Monday afternoon. The actual cutoff time is Monday morning at 1 PM Slovenian time. So earls morning in the US. So the new one usually starts before it is posted. But the post is when you all find out about it. I also add a link to G2G post in my weekly post of new Suggestions.

Should you add dates, estimated dates to orphans, born after 1920, who would then become Private orphans = and no one can see a thing?

I would not.  

Maybe add the death date estimate instead so it does not lock.
