Wife of John Murdock

Question

There is some sources giving this lineage:

1. Samuel Read (Read-678) m. Deborah Chapin (Chapin-261)
2. Sarah Read (Read-2311) m. John Murdock (Murdock-687)
3. Amos Murdock (Murdock-688)
4. Lydia Murdock (Murdock-689)
5. Elisha Harmon (Harmon-1153)
6. Emma Harmon (Harmon-1154)
7. Frances Folsom (Folsom-35)

I am not able to verify it. Some other source said that surname of mother of Sarah Read is instead Hopestill.

I believe their are problems with the lineage. All data below, with page numbers, is from Bates Vital Records of Mendon, Massachusetts, to the year 1850". 

Samuel Read (Jr) m. Deborah Chapin (no record of marriage in Mendon VR, but Deborah Read d. 9 Apr 1702, age 26. p. 492). Dtr. Mary b. 11 Aug 1694. Dtr. Deborah b. 25 Jan 1695/6.  Dtr. Hopstill [sic.] b. 1 Apr 1698. All 3 dtrs. p. 148. No more children, and none named Sarah.

Samuel m. Abigal [sic.] White 7 Jan 1703/04. Had 3 dtrs. Abigal (1. 27 Apr 1706, 2. 23 Dec 1710, 3. 29 May 1720), s. Daniel b. 29 Oct 1712. p. 147.  S. Ebenezer  b.18 Aug 1709; dtr. Hannah b. 11 Jun 1724; s. Samuel b. 7 Jun 1707;  dtr. SARAH b. 10 Feb 1716/17; s. Thomas b. 24 Nov. 1715. Last 5, p. 148.

Samuel d. 14 Feb. 1724/25. p. 492. 

Sarah Read. m. __hn Mordock [sic] "of Newtown" 12 Apr 1727. p. 348.

Deborah had no daughter Sarah, Abigail had daughter Sarah age 10 in 1727, so couldn't be Sarah Read who married John Murdock.

The birth year for Sarah Read Murdock, 24 Mar 1703, falls between Samuel Read's two marriages. No other Sarah Read in Mendon records of the correct age to have married John Murdock. Source on Sarah Murdock's profile,  NEHGR V. 71:267 gives marriage of John Murdock to Sarah Read, but does not address her parentage. Other source in profile, "Stevens - Woodruff Binder", not published and not available.

The Chapin Genealogy , p. 227, agrees with the children of Deborah shown above.

I believe that the parents of Sarah Read are questionable, if not unknown.
