Several sites (including Find A Grave, Ancestry and several others note that Anne Brent, sister of Giles Brent, married Leonard Calvert.. But no Anne Brent is listed here as a sister of Giles....are the other sites in error? Thank you for your help. Really always count on wiki tree.

I found this

Maryland Historical Magazine, Vol. 22, p. 307

"Calvert and Darnall Gleanings from English Wills" by Mrs. Russell Hastings

"The identity of Leonard Calvert's wife (now that it is known that Margaret Brent's sister Anne was a non-juring spinster in 1651, ten years after the birth of Leonard Calvert's children) is undiscovered, although she was possibly a member of the prolific Brent family."  None of the Brents showed any interest in the children of Leonard Calvert by will or otherwise, as it seems they would have done had the children been nephew and niece."

Nice digging, Kathi!

This may be a different Anne Brent.   Calvert clearly had close associations with the Brents and he named Margaret as his executrix.  Unfortunately he didn't leave a written will, it was noncupative (spoken on his deathbed) so we don't have a statement like "I direct my sister-in-law, Margaret...  "    His children were born in 1642 and 1644.

Thank you for reading the biography!  Actually, the biography only covers the siblings of Giles Brent who interacted with him later in life when he was in Maryland.  Anne Brent, who died never having married, is shown in the data field as one of Giles' sisters, and she has her own profile.

As Lord Proprietor of the Province of Maryland, Calvert's biography has been extensively studied, and no record identifying his wife has yet been found.

As is often the case, Ancestry, Find-a-Grave, and other popular genealogy sources are wrong.
