My great great grandfather Arthur Ettinger from Maine born about 1870 married Georgina Hennigar. She is from Nova Scotia, and he is from Maine. Their marriage record shows they were married in Dexter July 6th 1893.
They gave birth to Harry Morton Ettinger 19 May 1895 to 24 Dec 1983.
Georgina died soon after the birth of Harry, my great grandfather. Arthur dropped Harry off to be raised on a farm in Nova Scotia and went back to Maine.
This is all my family knew, we always knew of Arthur being a long lost relative, and it was sad for my family to think about - what ever happened to him...
Anyway, over the last week I started searching, and found that he remarried a few years later in Maine to Alice E Toby in Dover Jan 7 1899,
From there, I think I found a record of them living, working as servants in Fred Cranes home. I think I found the estate, at least a picture of it on the internet in Monson Piscataquis. They would be about 29 and 31 years old, she was older and divorced. On the census, it shows him listed as having no children.
I have all of these documents, and after scowering the internet, I'm coming up empty handed. I've searched cemetary records, family search, ancestry, you name it.
It would be great to know at least where he passed away for our family history book.
It is sad to think about him just leaving and never coming back, I think he likely died a young death, but would like to know. Further, if he did live longer, he likely had children in Maine, which would be long lost relatives we would love to connect with.
Thank you
