Hi Diana!  Welcome to WikiTree!

I'm going to suggest you start profiles for the Bennett brothers, and then put everything you know so far into the profiles, and then ask a question here linking your question to one of the profiles.  That makes it easiest for those of us who want to help to see what you already know, so we don't just duplicate your effort.

Does that make sense?

Hi Dianna,

Another excellent source for South Australia is Genealogy SA's Online database: website

However you need to be a member to gain access to the full details but if you have a lot of relatives it is worth it. It costs $99/annum plus a joining fee of $22.

I have looked for the 3 brothers assuming that you mean they were born in SA in the 1850s. I found a John Shephard, James and a Walter Scott (not William) that were born to John Bennett and Maria Scott between 1855 and 1860. If you want any further details on these brothers or any other South Australian, you can contact me direct via email.

Thanks, but they were born in England and arrived  in S A about the 1850s as immigrants. i cant seem to find out if the names i have found, are really brothers.
Diana, do you have any idea how old they were?  Dates of birth (even just the year) would be helpful.
Also, it would have been good if you had added "emigrated from Shropshire England to South Australia in 1856" to your question.  (You still can, by editing it.)  Such information makes it much easier for us to help you.
