Is there a possibiltiy to mark a gender as unknown?

Because I like to add all children of a family - for which I have sources - to the tree, I also add stillborn children.

I have learned that I cannot write Anonymous as first name, if they got no name because data doctor marks a mistake. So I write now unknown.

In old church records often the gender of stillborn babies is not mentioned. So it would be nice to have the possibility to select unknown for the gender.

'Unnamed Infant' should be used in 1st name if the baby was not named.  That is covered in Name Help page.

There has been some G2G discussions about having an option for gender as unknown.  When you see a suggestion about gender not being set, just mark that as 'False' with a comment that it is unknown.

Also add the {{Died Young}} template under the Biography header.

Great question Dieter.  When you create the profile just leave the gender blank.  When you try to save it will give you an error; just override and save anyways.  This will register as an error in your suggestion feed.  Go in and dismiss it and it will go away.

As for naming, you can use this:

If an infant died before he or she could be named use what is on their death record according to their conventions, otherwise use Unnamed Infant. Do not use Infant BoyBaby Girl, etc. There is a gender field for this.
