If anyone is looking for information about the Bull family that might be included in the book  "The Family of Stephen Bull of Kinghurst Hall, County Warwick, England and Ashley Hall, South Carolina 1600-1960" let me know and I will look it up and share.  It includes ancestors, stories, and many descendants up to the present, as well as information about other Bull lines.

Interesting. This is a long shot ...

My 3x gt grandfather was John Bull, born in England around 1774 (NOT in Middlesex per the 1841 census), and in 1841 was a storekeeper in an Insane Asylumn in London (Melbourne Lodge, located in Lamb Lane). He died in 1843 in Hackney on the 30th March. His wife's name was Sarah (maiden name is unknown). She may have come from Colchester in Essex per the 1861 census.

They had at least one daughter and 3 grand-daughters, all of whom emigrated to Australia.

If, by some remote chance, you have something I'll be eternally grateful. It's like looking for a needle in a haystack looking for John and Sarah in the London area.

I will look right now... not being electronic it will take a few minutes but I will let you know for sure if I find something Rosemary.
Sorry Rosemary, nothing about that line that I can see.  I wish you the best of luck.
As I said, a long shot. Still, you never know.

Many thanks,

Rosemary

I am sorry but there is not an Edward Bull resembling your's anywhere in this book.  If I run into information about him I will send it to you immediately.  Good luck, and have a great day.

I would love to go back at least one more generation in my "Bull" family.

I have Phebe Bull b. beginning of Aug. 1655 in Saybrook, CT; m. Samuel Chalker,  Oct 31,1676 in Saybrook, CT.

Phebe's parents: Robert Bull b. abt. 1628 (no place), m. Phebe Gosse (Jose) on Dec. 15, 1649; she d. 1679.

Any information for me?  Help would be appreciated.

Hello Keith,

Interesting ! I'm a Stephen Bull and have briefly (if amateurishly) traced my family back to Whitechapel c.1810 where my direct ancestor Joseph Bull was a sheriff's officer. Most of the oldest of the male line were Williams or Josephs all the way through from c.1800 to c.1940.

I also know there was a Bull family associated with the Ordnance Office at the tower of London c.1570 - 1620. Stephen and William and extraordinarily 'Deacons' being the Christian names - but I'm by unsure these are linked.

Any clues from your research  would be hugely appreciated. Thank you for reading this !

Best wishes,

Stephen
