Does anyone have a good way to find out someone's military rank?
in The Tree House by Anonymous Johnston G2G6 (9.4k points)
This is going depend on the specific person in question, which country's military they served with, which time period, etc. Can you provide a link to a profile in question, or provide more information on the person so we can provide better responses?
I am researching my family and by chance continued to look at some Census Records and found sheets of Miltary Folks and their families. I searched by year then state and Counties. It takes patience and looking but i found over 100 names of folks in a county with their ranks listed as well.

I might not be able to get back to you for a little bit...

I'll give you these profiles...

I think Worley-2725 was in Marine Corps

and

Eugene Rowland (Rowland-3434) had 4 sons Everett, Paul, Herbert, and Robert that all enlisted in WW2, I just don't know if they actually served somewhere.

(Eugene's 4 sons all have Wikitree profiles and are connected to Eugene (Rowland-3434)
