Would you please make the Watchlist sortable by Status/ID? [closed]

I source profiles by birth families.  It would be a terrific organization if that one 'unsortable' column on the watchlist would be made sortable.  Would you please copy the sortable by alphabet script from the first column (by last married name) to the third column on the Watchlist?

How many times has this same question been asked?  Throughout how many years has this same question been asked?  How many times has WikiTree received this same request?

Just so there is no continued confusion:  Would you please remove the word status from the third column and just make it Profile ID?

<script src="sorttable.js"></script>
<table class="sortable">

If WikiTree developers cannot do this, would you please explain why?

Thank you, B.

I've never had any reason to sort by status/id. Could you explain more how this would be beneficial?  Thanks.
If you sort alphabetically on the first column, it sorts by married name.  The third column has the names by LNAB or maiden name for women.
I suppose that since my Wikitree bookmarks include a link to my full watchlist, and since when I'm looking for a surname, I just hit Ctrl F, I can't see why this would be any faster.  But maybe if we could sort this way, I would use it.  Probably not.
I, too, like to work by birth surnames and would like to be able to arrange my Watchlist alphabetically by birth surname for the primary sort.

Perhaps the "Name" column could be changed to sort by "Last Name at Birth" instead of "Current Last Name." Alternately, perhaps "LNAB" could be added as a sorting parameter.

I believe it has been discussed before that it couldn't be done due to one reason or another (most likely because the cell contents are concatenated as Ros mentioned), but this is a workaround using the to-do list page. (Credit to RJ, I think he posted about this).

Go to Add > New Thing >  and click on the to do list link (or just click here: https://www.wikitree.com/index.php?title=Special:Showpage&f=to_do). Scroll to the bottom, and there is a table that can be sorted by Wiki-ID.

I don't get it.  If I really cared about sorting my watchlist in different ways, I'd just copy and paste it into a Google spreadsheet and play with it to my heart's content.  But to each her own.

"Status" needs to remain, because I think it refers to the little 'M' which shows if you are the Profile Manager or not.

Thank you Ros.  So that explains the problem with having the status/id sortable: Status is first.

If that were reversed to ID/Status, then sorttable and sortable could be added with ease.

If you click on a Wiki-ID in the Status/ID column of the watchlist, the link takes you to the surname list for that LNAB, showing only the items from your own watchlist.

I never noticed this. I could find it useful.

Thank you so much, Eva.  Yes, by Last Name at Birth (LNAB).  With the added advantage of focusing on one surname at a time.

Thank you to each person who responded.

Sincerely, B.
