How do I find an address or land records, New York State 1800s

I'm looking for the exact location of a farm owned by Chauncy Steenburgh in Cherry Valley, Otsego county, New York State. I have found the family on various censuses, with no address of any sort.

A telephone directory entry for the early 1900's says: Steenburgh Chauncey, r, Cherry Valley CherryVal 16-F21

I'm looking for the information because my husband's 5 X grt Grandfather owned the same land from 1773- 1783ish

Thanks for posting the map link, I forgot until after I posted a response. With that and the historical atlas for county boundary changes M might be able to track the land ownership back to the early land grant.
You're welcome, best of luck in your search.  :-)
Thanks Kay and Lauren that's very helpful.

The 1903 map confirms the location I have from the 1738 Lindesay patent map, I had the lot number but couldn't make sense of where it was in relation to more current maps.

A book called The history of Cherry Valley by Robert Sawyer published 1898, said the McClellans lived on the site of the current Chauncey Steenburgh farm and I hadn't been able to find anything that showed a location.
I'm glad everything matched up!  I've had success with maps I've found on the internet in the past, I was happy to see the name you were looking for on that one (and didn't need a magnifying glass to read it!).  Best wishes.  :-)

On FamilySearch search the catalog for otsego New York. Pick land records. Pick the records obviously from the state. This gets you to the state page. Pick the county, look at images of the index books. Grantees received, grantors gave.

Same process as for wills. See https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/951078/how-to-find-new-york-state-wills?show=951078#q951078
