Can anyone help with information on a Donald George McMillan?

Question

Just beginning to piece together some of my family tree and have hit a bit of a road wall.

I know that Donald Hugh McMillan and Nancy Lillian Bennett (McMillan/Gledhill) are my great grandparents. But what I am struggling to find information on is my grand parents their son Donald George McMillan and Pamela Joy Bennett (Freeman).

We believe that there is possibly a name change in the mix which is making it hard to find information. Due to Nancy remarrying and Donald George being adopted by William Edward (Bill) Bennett.

Any help or ideas on where to search for information would be greatly appreciated.

I believe that Donald George McMillan was born in Blenheim, NZ (birthday 31/3/1941), and married Pamela Joy Bennett (Freeman) in Blenheim and then they moved to Nelson, NZ sometime after this.

Sarah, sadly, really recent information is quite hard to come by in NZ since your grandparents were born less than 80 years ago. Even if they have passed away, death registrations won’t show yet. If you know when they passed away, you can order a copy of their death certificates which may give you more information. If you belong to Ancestry, you may be able to find them on the electoral rolls.

Hey Fiona, Thanks for the reply. I did not know this! Still learning and super new on this journey. But it explains all the walls that I keep hitting in finding information. I have some idea of the death dates so possibly will be able to apply to get them or get them from my parents who may have copies.
