Merging Profiles with Unresponsive Members when Profile is of Person that is no longer living

Question

The attached profile is one I created before I realized there is another "duplicate" profile. I submitted them to be merged after investigating the surname discrepancy.

I have contacted the profile owner and left comments on the profiles.

I thought after the 30 day period, I could merge the profiles regardless; however, due to the privacy settings, I cannot merge the profiles without approval from the profile manager.

Reading the guidelines, I am now at this step to request assistance from arborists I believe.

I am curious about the privacy policy for profiles of people that are no longer living. I thought those were no longer allowed to be restricted.

I have been working on getting privacy protected profiles merged, but it is a process that takes a while. Please be patient I hope to get to them all in time.

The profiles that are born less than 150 years ago or died less than 100 years ago can have Open, Public or Private privacy levels. It is only the profiles greater than 150 years born or 100 yeas dead that have to be open.

Only Open Profiles can be merged with the 30 day wait with the other privacy levels being reliant of profile managers approval.

That would be nice, but it seems to me the opposite is true, because I have been seeing more of newer profiles are automatically set to some slight restriction (for those born within the last 100 years) until the PM manually opens the profile up.

It is perfectly ok to limit the privacy of deceased persons if  there are living offspring.

The profile manager has not been active since 2016. You should probably follow the Unresponsive Profile Manager process. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Unresponsive_Profile_Managers

You might also want to check if this manager created other profiles you are interested in.
