I can't seem to get information on my grandparents's marriage record but no luck

Question

I've researched on my father's parents, as in my grandparents Sylvia Ann Laviolette and William F. Laviolette Jr. to look up for their marriage records, only I was able to find year 1954 from other source but not 100% completely enough to get more info for my liking. Sylvia's birthday is Jan 26, 1932 and birthplace is Keokuk, Iowa, beside William's birthday is Sept 9, 1929 and his birthplace is Hartford, Connecticut She married to him that why I'm stuck at that part right now which I was working on her side of family tree of hers. Any ideas?

If your grandparents are deceased you should be able to contact the jurisdiction where they were married and get a copy of their marriage certificate. You may have to establish that you are indeed their grandchild and that they are deceased. Some states have an option for a certificate “for genealogical purposes” where some or all of these restrictions are waived. You will most likely have to pay for the certificate.

Thank you, My grandmother has passed on back in 2014, and I'm told that my grandfather is still alive far as I'm aware of I'm forbidden from contacting my dad's family from my mom's orders I'll take your advise in mind for future in case if things not go in my way.

You can always look at the website for the jurisdiction that holds the records and see what the restrictions are, if any, for you as a near descendant.

Yep thats what Im working on that part since I didnt get any result on my grandparwnts from connecticut marriage records but I did find one from my 2nd great grandparents on that connecticut marriage record from 1928

1954 may be the date as she and William are listed together in 1955. Hartford Connecticut.  I find it interesting that she is listed as a reporter.  Later they are in FL.

Yeah its quite interesting that she was reporter I never knew that piece of info about my grandma, til recently I was researching via ancestry website... and thank you so much, Yeah I figured out that 1954 its likely that she moved to Connecticut to live with him, thank you so much for quick response. I'm typing in and looking from other sources to locate that piece of info on that marriage date and location. I should have wrote it down few weeks back on a website that I used. *facepalms*
