Koningshooikt 1836 akte 25

12-mei-1836 geb Franciscus, zoon van Angelina Croonen.

Schriek 1842 akte On the right-side page; there is a paragraph which I think says the groom (Joannes Baptiste Vercammen) is father of Franciscus. I'd like to know what all the dutch words are in this paragraph.

Yes you are correct.

The first deed (birth) states that the child is unlawful. It gives the house where it was born and Angelina was working at the time but does not mention the father.

Then at the marriage in 1842 they both acknowledge that Franciscus is their son. A copy of that is scribbled in the side of the birth certificate.

Thanks Michel; are you able to please transcribe Dutch words regarding the couple’s “acknowledgement” from the marriage record?

Noteworthy:

- witness Franciscus Verschueren, 50 year old, brother in law of bride.

- witness Egidius ...ché 37years dayworker (dagwerker), brother in law groom.

- witness Joannes Baptista Croonen, 58 yo, wever, uncle of bride

All witnesses live in this community and most cannot sign as they do not know how to.
Please note that this is rather standard practice at marriages. The wording might vary a bit per region, but the text itself is dictated by law. Thanks to Napoleon.
Thanks Michel!
