Admiral Samuel GREIG 1735 - 1788, born in Fife, Scotland, was seconded to Russia by the British Royal Navy to assist in improving the Russian navy..he exceled in this, he made a name for himself in several big naval battles, was knighted by Catherine the Great and when he died in 1788 he was given a state funeral. I believe I may be related to Adm Greig, I an unable to locate any of his siblings or much at all on his parents
