Subcategory Redirects to Main Category

Question

I've created a One Name Study for the Barnum surname [[Category:Barnum Name Study]] which is working fine in all respects but one. The main page contains a subcategory titled "Barnum Name Study" which redirects to the same main page upon which it's located. Can that redundant and unnecessary subcategory be removed?

It's because that category is a subcategory of itself. That's why you see it listed in the category, and also at the top, alongside One Name Studies and DNA Projects, you see Barnum Name Study again.

If you remove the category from itself (remove [[Category:Barnum Name Study]] from the page), that will fix the problem.
