New member introducing myself

Question

I am trying to trace my Denny tree of ancestors from North Carolina back to MD/PA and possibly NJ and then on to Ireland.  Any suggestions, info or other help to do this is appreciated.  I have traced to PA in the  mid 1700's with James Denny being born in Tyrone N. Ireland.  Help?

Welcome! I have ancestors from Tyrone also and have not been able to find anything online. Mine may be the same time or a little later. Also, you should explore the possibility that your ancestors were Scots-Irish. Early in the 1700s Scots were persuaded to migrate to Ireland with the promise of better farming, etc. would be better, but it wasn't. So many emigrated to America. I have one ancestor that is listed as Irish on some census records and Scottish on others. I don't known if it is a mistake of the census taker or what. Just something to look into. I don't know if the name Denny is Scottish or Irish, maybe you do.
