Katie M. Hanmer was born in 1867 in probably Wethersfield, Connecticut the daughter of Edward J. And Maria Hanmer. She passed away at the young age of 16. Apparently the family moved from providence Rhode Island and a few years later their daughter died tragically. The 1910 census shows father and mother living in Wethersfield however the 1880 census shows the family in Rhode Island. We need help finding out how she passed away.
I believe this is her mentioned in Hartford Courant Hartford, Connecticut 07 Feb 1883, Wed • Page 4 However need more sources as this mentions a Elizabeth Hanmer and doesn’t appear to be Katie
Any help is appreciated in connecting her and updating her with more sources.
I have added photographs I took of her gravestone to help in her genealogy research she has a beautiful gravestone.
She was the only child of her parents. This is very sad as the couple didn’t have any kids so she must of been their miracle baby! This poor family probably spent every penny just to erect this beautiful stone!
Their are two stones on one side and two on the other; the inside stones show her parents initials so I’m assuming the parents are buried with her the outer two stones have the last name matching initials but unknown relation
Note: her middle initial appears to be the letter “M.
Further research shows Katie Maria Hanmer passed away in Providence R.I due to heart disease and edema of the lungs. She was only 16 so this is an interesting fact. Death record a bit difficult to read handwriting
Thank you
