Are there any people searching Collins family who lived in Brisbane from the early days

James Collins was in Brisbane Australia by 1860. He had a large family who are spread across western Queensland . I believe there are some in the Winton area. They are hard to trace because records were poor and the name was fairly common. There always seems to be more than one of whichever child I search.

In addition to Michael's suggested tags, I suggest Australia as well.  (I'm not sure if there is a Queensland tag, but you could try that.)

Where have you been searching that your results are so "poor"?

Hey C. Collins. Welcome!

There are a lot of Collins already on the tree. If you click your last name on your wiki page you are forwarded to the search page for the name.

You might also want to check out the big name study:

These so-called 'One Name Studies' work on all records known for a specific name. You can attract people to your question by adding the tags: 'Collins' and 'One_Name_Studies'.
