New member introducing myself

Question

I am an amateur genealogist now for about 10 years.  I am hunting collaboration for Clan Johnson/MacIain of Ardnamurchan.  Our family to the present we believe begins with Daniel Johnson (b. 1740?), who married into the McCurry family and immigrated with them and the MacDonalds to Cape Fear in August 1774.  His son, Daniel Franklin Johnson (1778-1848), born in Catawba, NC moved to Franklin, GA in 1800.

Welcome to WikiTree. There already is a Daniel Franklin Johnson (1780-1851), born in NC and who died in GA. I realize that the birth and death years do not match exactly but his father, Daniel Johnson, was born in Scotland, married A. McCurry in Scotland, and immigrated to the USA. They were from Scotland, there were a lot of people from Scotland who came to North Carolina during the 1700s.
