That's what I had when I started: a tree compiled by my father, with correct names, dates, relationships and locations for his paternal branch several generations back.
I have later figured out that it must have been researched by his brother-in-law and an uncle, visiting the archives back before even the days of microfiches. It was left to me in 2003, but I didn't really pick it up until after I retired in 2011. Then, when I discovered that I could access digitized church records from home, I was hooked.
Having correct data to begin with was a great help when learning to navigate the books and read the old chickenscratch.
I hope you'll enjoy the journey into the records as much as I did! I find WikiTree very convenient for keeping notes - I just try not to get too far in advance of myself :-)
