Confusing profile of Johann Peter (Derryberry) Durrenberger

Am I free to remove the wife of George Derreberry, who is now connected to Johann Peter D├╝rrenberger (who was changed from George Derreberry over the years)

On 21 Jun 2020 Janne (Shoults) Gorman wrote on Derryberry-231:

This person was created through the import of Watkins.ged on 04 April 2011, as George Derryberry, son of Henry Derryberry and Mary Coghill. Due to the changes made (view changes tab) over the years, the system (nor I) recognized it, and so I created a new George Derryberry. I would prefer that this profile NOT be merged with the new profile that I created Derryberry-528, even though I have attached George to his proper wife, Catherine Cattorn. I would prefer that Catherine be removed as a spouse of this profile and this profile be stripped of any mention of George to preclude future confusion. jan

I took the advice of Melanie Paul, since the comments were the same as in Durrenberger-19  and Durrenberger-20 (which I merged)

I used the "Restore" utility to return Derryberry-231 profile to it's original state ... however the utility does not connect the profile to the original parents.

I have proposed a merge between Derryberry-528, the profile I created, and the now restored profile.

It was only what I have seen said by others far more  knowledgeable than I (am).

I believe the point is that if the person's existence is in question, it belongs under disputed existence, not merged away so that duplicates are created again in the future.  (I am not sure if such warrants any project protection, but I am sure those who are more knowledgeable than I will step in and say so if it is the case.)

There is also the matter of Catherine Cattorn, who maybe should be removed from any profile and re-attached only after it is determined where she was born, as it appears she lived, and died, in America, and the supposed Durrenberger "husband" was born, lived, and died in France.  (I don't know the protocol for this, so it may be that she should be detached from Durrenberger (if this wasn't already done) and attached to George Derryberry for now.)
