It was only what I have seen said by others far more knowledgeable than I (am).
I believe the point is that if the person's existence is in question, it belongs under disputed existence, not merged away so that duplicates are created again in the future. (I am not sure if such warrants any project protection, but I am sure those who are more knowledgeable than I will step in and say so if it is the case.)
There is also the matter of Catherine Cattorn, who maybe should be removed from any profile and re-attached only after it is determined where she was born, as it appears she lived, and died, in America, and the supposed Durrenberger "husband" was born, lived, and died in France. (I don't know the protocol for this, so it may be that she should be detached from Durrenberger (if this wasn't already done) and attached to George Derryberry for now.)
